Class Descriptions

​​BARRE  Fusion class where we focus on balance, flexibility, and strength training designed to build and strengthen your muscles with small, isometric, concentrated movements that work the entire body with extra attention to the core (belly, hips, and thighs).  Body bars, chairs, weights, SPRI balls, and more may be used in class. 


BOOTCAMP  This personal trainer led program will push you beyond the plateau and get some serious results!  Workouts are varied and open to men and women - not for the beginner exerciser.  May be held indoor or outdoors.  Must pre-register - additional fee.  


BODYPUMP  Shape and tone your muscles with this full body weight training workout set to music!  This 60 minute workout challenges all your major muscle groups by using the best weight -room exercises like squats, presses, curls, and dips.


BODYVIVE 3.1  If you want the optimal mix of strength, cardio and core training this is it. BODYVIVE will burn calories and help you build fitness and strength while improving energy levels, flexibility, balance, agility and core strength.


BOXING FOR FITNESS  Shadow boxing, target practice,

heavy bag work, and defense with martial arts mixed in.  

Train like a fighter!


CORE AND MORE This class consists of total abdominal and low back

exercises to strengthen the core. 


INDOOR CYCLING  This class is a great cardiovascular workout!

Pedal through hills, sprints, climbs, and many other challenging drills

and exercises.  All levels are welcome.  All rides are geared to each

participant's level.  Your class...your ride. Express class is a 30 minute

higher intensity ride.


PIYO LIVE   Who says you have to jump, grunt, strain, and punish your

body to get amazing results from your workout? Not with PiYo…

PiYo combines the muscle-sculpting, core-firming benefits of Pilates with the strength and flexibility advantages of yoga. And, we crank up the speed to deliver a true fat-burning, low-impact workout that leaves your body looking long, lean, and incredibly defined.


ZUMBA  ZUMBA takes the "work" out of workout, by mixing low-intensity and high-intensity moves for an interval-style, calorie-burning dance fitness party. Once the Latin and World rhythms take over, you'll see why Zumba® Fitness classes are often called exercise in disguise. Super effective? Check. Super fun? Check and check.


ZUMBA TONING  The challenge of adding resistance by using Zumba® Toning Sticks (or light weights), helps you focus on specific muscle groups, so you (and your muscles) stay engaged!


YOGA/PILATES


EmPOWER Vinyasa Flow (60 min.) The word "Vinyasa" means "arranging something in a special way".  No matter where you are in your practice, this class can be adjusted to your level and needs for the day.  We coordinate breath to flow from one pose to the next.  From Sun Salutations to warrior sequences to balancing and twisting, this class will leave you feeling strong, open, and inspired.  We nourish the senses with aromatherapy, gentle music, and assists to prepare for savasana.  


FLOW YOGA (60 min.) Students will focus on linking conscious breath with a powerful and mindful flow. We will work to build strength, flexibility, and concentration while cleansing the body and calming the mind. You can expect a great cardiovascular and strength building workout combined with breath work. This class speaks to beginner and advanced yogis! Regardless of where you are in your practice, this class can be modified for YOUR body.


YOGA FOR WELLNESS (75 min.) This beginning level yoga class provides stretching and relaxation techniques for better health, flexibility,

and personal energy.  Perfect for those who think they are not flexible enough for yoga.


RESTORATIVE YOGA (60 min.) Gentle flow combined with moments of stillness in restorative poses will assist in developing a sense of calm & rest. Bolsters, blocks, and blankets may also be used to support your body and facilitate release of stress. Suitable for all levels.


GROUNDING FLOW YOGA (60 min.) This set sequence class will open with centering breathwork, followed by reclining or kneeling poses to warmup, progressing to standing strength & balance, and closing with seated or reclining static poses and guided relaxation. Time for stillness is incorporated in the practice to help you "reset" the mind - body connection and feel more grounded. No prior experience needed - all are welcome.


HOLY YOGA (60 min) Holy Yoga is experiential worship specifically created to deepen your connection to Christ. The sole purpose is to combine world-class yoga with a Christ honoring experience that offers an opportunity to believers and non-believers alike to authentically connect with God. We do this by integrating His Word, prayer, worship and the physical practice of yoga to contemporary and Christian music. No prior experience needed! Holy Yoga at Sound Fitness is a donation-based offering. 


TAI-CHI & MEDITATION (75 min.)  This ancient practice of mind, body, and spirit will support improved balance and circulation. Class closes with meditation. Accessible to people of any ability. This class is a community class.
